My Thoughts
This has been on my TBR for a while and it took me forever to get a physical copy of this book which only made me want to read it more. If you can’t find it that means everyone loves it too much to part with right?
The Surgeon ended up being my first finished fiction book of the year and I really enjoyed it. I’m not sure anyone else watched Rizzoli & Isles but I did and loved it. This book only has Rizzoli in it but I’m hoping the next will have Isles as well. The characters are different in the book, Rizzoli is a little more bitter, Frost is married, Jane doesn’t seem as close with her family. Nonetheless I still really enjoyed it. Jane shows the struggles of being a female cop and talks more about why she is the way she is.
The one thing I really didn’t enjoy was the writing from the killers view, I felt it wasn’t really needed to keep the book going and actually took me out of the killers head. I also really didn’t need to see a point of view from the victim but it didn’t detract as much.
I’m hoping I can find the second book soon so I can see if this is a thriller I can continue with since it’s not a genre I typically read.
Has anyone else read this book? What did you think?
All of her books are wonderful. The Rizolli and Isles series is fantastic. 🙂
