Down the TBR Hole…

Trickster’s Queen by Tamora Pierce

The fact that this is the oldest book currently on my TBR on Goodreads (2011) makes me laugh because I haven’t read the first book yet.  I think perhaps at the time I’d picked up the first and right around then was when the world of fanfic sucked me fully in and way from the beautiful book world.

Judgement: Keep, nothing by Tamora Pierce can ever be dropped however I need to add the first book to my TBR to pick it up.

Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill

I don’t remember adding this book, and it sounds like something I’d enjoy, in the Urban Fantasy genre. The first line on goodreads is “They killed me. They healed me. They changed me.”  That sounds really interesting!  However the plot of this isn’t really grabbing me at all and I can always add it again later.

Bitten by Kelly Armstrong

This was turned into a TV show right?  I think I watched a few episodes and really liked it.  Another Urban Fantasy, this one where the Elena, is the only female werewolf.  It still sounds really interesting and it has really good reviews.

X Restored by Claudia Mair Burney

This is another book I have no memory of adding and is the 3rd book in a series I’ve never read.  I went and read the first book story and just not feeling it.

Judgement: Drop

Wherever Grace Is Needed

Wherever Grace is Needed by Elizabeth Bass

Another book added back in 2011 but reading the plot to this book it sounds really nice.  I guess this is a “Chick Lit” book, not a genre I read much of but I’m trying to branch out and this seems really sweet and potentially one that might make me cry.  Sounds good to me!

Judgement: Keep

Total: 3 Kept, 2 Dropped.

Comments: To be honest, I feel like this was as easy as it gets, everything here on out is going to be hard.  I think I need to read my books faster.  Did you guys agree with my choices? Have you read any of the above books?

Neko

The Night CircusThe Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I keep coming back to this book, really want to by it, but for some reason have never taken the plunge… I keep vacillating! Need to check some reviews on this one…

The Judgement: Keep

The HistorianThe Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

I love history! Well, it depends on the country, but history is usually a win in my books. Besides, a book about books? Can’t turn that down, or its good reviews.

The Judgement: Keep

The Thief (The Queen's Thief, #1)

The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner

I feel like I am failing at this meme. This title is a Y.A. which usually puts in my ‘no’ stack, but Heartless has changed my mind about the young adult section, and I love a good story about thieves so… You guessed it!

The Judgement: Keep

The Paradise War (The Song of Albion, #1)The Paradise War by Stephen R. Lawhead

I think my reading slump is making this hard.. This one sounds interesting too! Ancient celts, Scottish Brigadoon, there may even be mist that obscures it all! I think I need to read more, or get out more, or be more discriminating in my tastes…

The Judgement: Keep

City of Golden Shadow (Otherland, #1)City of Golden Shadow by Tad Williams

Evil websites! What more can you ask for in a book? Yup you guessed it!

The Judgement: Keep

So other than Neko was unable to cut any books from her list, how did your trip down the TBR Hole go? What did you think of our decisions?

  1. Those Tamora Pierce books are such fun reads and the Night Circus was great, one of my top books of last year. I’m trying to recall whether I’ve watch the TV rendition of Bitten or not. Was it a Canadian TV show?
